These dreams make me feel like I am chained to my past. I wish today I had never set foot in a goddamn TV newsroom 30-odd years ago. It's like some virus that got into my system and can never be completely purged.

Is there anyone who doesn't have these dreams though? I know I still have mine, usually about fire dispatching. Oddly enough, the dream meltdown is usually about some incident paperwork not being filled out right, or someone not showing up for their shift ...
I know other people who have these dreams. A news photographer friend of mine dreams that he's lost his camera. My former next door neighbor, a retired postal worker, said he used to dream he arrived at work to find a pile of mail so huge a hundred people couldn't have delivered it in a day, and he was supposed to do it by himself.
