Currently Tucson is filled with as much drama as a person can tolerate. I have so many comments I hate to bore you and your readers. My main hope is that people from around the country will think this is a "bad place" and not want to move or retire here. Obama's visit is disrupting everything I need to do today....they have even cancelled classes (first day of U of A). Gabrielle Giffords is a very cool person. I invited her to my Toastmasters open house last year and sure enough she came. I was amazed. Tucson is a little dot of blue in a sea of red. Dear Jimmy Carter, please let it stay that way.

P.S. Obama's visit is an inconvenience to me because he is speaking three blocks from where I live. It will be difficult at best to come and go.

Having experienced the OKC Bombing first hand this all seems kind of soft. I know it is not, but there are shootings like this all the time. Is one life worth more than another? Well, actually in this country it is. Here in Tucson I will say that people do strive for equality. In the last month on two occassions I have been asked to answer if I am male, female or transgendered.

Thanks for asking about my town. Thanks to Rena for the hello. Hope you all are doing well.

I have stayed away from everything since Saturday even riding my bike instead of worrying about the extra traffic. The hospital (UMC) where Giffords is is also close to my house and the activity there is over the top. I finally had to drive by this morning. Every media source imaginable is set up out front. Many, many people use 8 conference rooms at the UMC for weekly meetings and now everything is off limits. I also drove by the U of A and LITERALLY there was a line TWO miles long to see Obama at 6:00pm tonight. People are just weird. It is that simple.
