Foolishness

...that's all. Just foolishness.

I was on a jury study yesterday. The details are way too long for this but if I can try to summarize.....the case was a 47-year old auto mechanic who had back pain. He was suing the doctor for not diagnosing a slipped disk sooner. Again, long story. Eight jurors. Seven sided with the doctor. The eighth juror stated "I feel the doctor was wrong and besides the patient was an AUTO MECHANIC, how could he know anything." Oh my. When confronted, the woman (about 70 years old, overweight, nicely dressed) said, "Well, maybe an auto mechanic could be 'well read' but they certainly have a hard time with common sense." She also stated that due to the fact he worked out at a gym he must be one of those "buff type people with tattoos". We saw no pictures and had very little info on the players of this case. What can you say to that?

Please God do not ever let my peers decide my fate.

I would really like to hear what you think of Charlie Sheen. I suspect you stay away from the subject lest you be perceived as foolish too. Come on, give us some feedback.

I don't watch TV, so what I know about Charlie Sheen is what I picked up through shit-to-brain osmosis: tiger blood, Adonis DNA, winning... that's about it.

I notice that once he started his meltdown, he seemed to be on everywhere. I didn't see the programs, but I saw ads for them.

Fortunately, there wasn't much news going on anywhere, so all these programs had plenty of time to devote to yet another symbiotic relationship in which the media exploit a wacked-out celeb for ratings, and the celeb allows himself to be exploited. Everyone involved knows what the score is.

And actually, I was referring to my own foolishness: developing an infatuation for a woman 25 years younger than me, when women my own age say I'm too old for them.

I planned to put all this aside as I immersed myself in ancient eastern wisdom. I did for awhile, too. But not forever, apparently.
