Overheard Christmas Day

... three customers talking at the EE Starbuck's.

Person 1: "The thing about Rome is it's so... historic!"

Person 2: "Yes."

Person 1: "Every time you turn a corner, there's history."

Person 2: "Yes."

Person 1: "It's everywhere. I love that city."

Person 2: "I've been to every major city except Florence, and I love Rome."

Person 1: "I've been there ten times in the past ten years."

Person 3: "I've been there thirty times in the past twenty years."

Where is the "EE" Starbucks?

That's short for 'Evil Empire Starbuck's' at Nichols Hills Plaza.

I thought Nina at Flibbertigibbet had coined that term, but searching her blog for a cite to which I could link, I found none.

The Evil Empire is taking over everything. In certain secret circles, they are also known as the compound of the Branch Aubreyians.

Beware ye travelers to Rome.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do:

Pick the pockets of tourists.

I've listened to inane conversations one MILLION times this year.

Oddly, though, never at the Red Cup...
